About the Role

Custom Filters Direct is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic / PLC Controls Technician to support and maintain our automated production equipment. This is a critical role focused on minimizing downtime, troubleshooting issues in real time, and improving overall equipment performance.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (1st Shift). Overtime may be required based on business needs.

Position Overview
In this role, you will:
- Troubleshoot and repair automated equipment in real time
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and PLC-related issues
- Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime
- Support equipment upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives
This is a hands-on role working directly on the production floor with a focus on keeping operations running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair automated production equipment
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and PLC issues
- Work directly with PLC systems (Allen Bradley preferred)
- Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, and improvements
- Partner with production teams to minimize downtime and improve efficiency
Qualifications
- Strong PLC troubleshooting experience required*
- Experience with Allen Bradley controls preferred*
- Solid electrical and mechanical background
- Experience in manufacturing or automated production environments
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues quickly and independently
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move throughout the facility for extended periods
- Frequent bending, reaching, and working with equipment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
