Are you a hands-on Robotics & Automation Engineer who can troubleshoot, program, and keep systems running in real time?
Custom Filters Direct is looking for a driven engineer to take ownership of our automated systems and support ongoing expansion of automation across our facility.


Schedule:
Monday through Friday
7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Overtime may be required based on business needs)

About Us:
Custom Filters Direct is a growing manufacturer specializing in custom air filters for eCommerce companies and direct fulfillment. As our operations expand, we are continuing to invest in automation to improve efficiency and production performance.


Position Overview:
This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving robotic and automated systems within the facility. This is a highly hands-on position requiring both technical expertise and mechanical ability. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on the production floor with a laptop, diagnosing issues in real time, and physically working on equipment when needed.

This position will serve as the primary onsite Robotics & Automation Engineer, supporting daily operations as well as new automation projects.


Key Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain robotic and automated production systems
• Program and modify PLC systems (Allen Bradley preferred)
• Perform hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting (“turning wrenches” as needed)
• Diagnose and resolve issues directly on the production floor in real time
• Support and implement new automation projects and system improvements
• Optimize equipment performance to reduce downtime and increase efficiency
• Work closely with production and maintenance teams
• Maintain documentation for systems, changes, and improvements
• Ensure safe operation of all automated systems


Qualifications:
Experience in robotics, automation, or controls engineering required
PLC experience required (Allen Bradley preferred)
• Intermediate-level robotics programming experience required
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work hands-on with equipment as well as program and diagnose systems
• Experience in a manufacturing or automated production environment
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of systems
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills


Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand and move throughout the facility for extended periods
• Ability to work on and around production equipment
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to lift, bend, and perform hands-on mechanical work as needed
